Biltong is a nutritious, high protein meat snack with a proud South African heritage.
The meat we use is grass-fed beef or free-range kudu which is salted and cured with vinegar & spices before being air dried to finish the curing process.

All our biltong is air dried, grass-fed beef or free-range kudu.
We recommend you consume your biltong before the best before date, which can range from about 2-6 weeks from when you receive your delivery. Quality checks are performed before each delivery.
When the biltong arrives in Hong Kong it is stored in a temperature-controlled environment, a 3rd party agent deliver in a temperature-controlled vehicle.
Should the product condition not be suitable when you take receipt please email us at info@biltongchief.com and we will make a suitable arrangement.
The meat is transported in an unbroken logistics chain of 0-4 deg C so it should arrive chilled or frozen.
Refrigerate or freeze immediately on receipt. Once placed in the fridge, use within 2-4 days if unopened.
Alternatively, freeze and consume before the best before date.
Any complaints of unsatisfactory products should be brought to attention within 24 hours of opening so we know that the product has been consumed within its recommended shelf life period.
Steaks, lamb and chicken should be consumed within 3-4 days from receipt or kept in the freezer for up to the recommended best before frozen date on the product .
Mince or Farm-Style Sausages should be consumed within 2 days or frozen for up to the recommended best before frozen date on the product.
Seafood should be consumed on the day it has defrosted.
All meat (excl. biltong) is currently frozen due to limited flights unless otherwise stated it is chilled.

Yes.
In summary, orders placed before 12pm (Mon-Fri) and 10am on Sat (excl. public holidays) will be delivered the following day. As your online BBQ meat butcher your order will be delivered to your doorstep in a temperature-controlled delivery vehicle

We have Stripe, PayPal as credit card options otherwise we also accept online bank or ATM transfers (banking information provided only on purchase for security reasons).

Guidelines for cooking steak & lamb:
If frozen, allow to defrost in the fridge.
Take out the fridge and vacuum bag 30 mins prior to cooking to allow the meat to reach room temperature and to release any excess blood.
Dab the meat with a paper towel to remove any surface blood (which can otherwise have a sour taste).

Green Initiative – How to help?
Biltong Chief’s stylish cooler bags can be returned and re-used, reducing the impact on the environment.
If you wish to recycle, please ensure that you:
1. Clean – Kindly wipe our Biltong Chief cooler bags so that they can be re-used again.
2. Re-package – Like a Russian doll set, please place all clean Biltong Chief coolers neatly inside the largest cooler bag you have at home.
3. Recycle – On your next delivery, feel free to hand your clean and re-packaged coolers to our courier. They will be re-used for delivery and may find their way back to you.
*Should your cooler bags be worn out or meat juices have spoiled them, please save them for your next fishing trip.
