The origins are fiercely contested through Central Europe, but we’ll give the war-invaded Poles the kudos for this spectacular snack.
Farmers in Eastern Poland bred pigs in a special way, making them eat potatoes (this marbles their meat, which gives – it is said – the kabanos a distinct taste). Since the Poles of that region called these pigs kaban, the sausage they made from it was called kabanos.
The Cabanossi (300g) weights listed are approximate and may have a +/-10% variance. Please let us know if you receive less than 90% of the advertised weight, and we’ll be happy to refund you proportionally.
