Klein Constantia Dry Riesling — Rare South African Expression
Riesling is rare in South Africa — very few estates attempt it, and even fewer achieve genuine quality. Klein Constantia's cool Constantia Valley site is one of the few locations in the Cape where Riesling can develop the acidity, minerality and aromatic intensity that the variety demands. This is an exciting, distinctive wine for adventurous drinkers.
Intensely aromatic: lime blossom, green apple, white peach and a petrol-like mineral note that Riesling lovers will recognise from the best Alsatian and German examples. The palate is bone-dry with laser-sharp acidity, a weightless texture and a long, mineral finish. Pure, precise and utterly refreshing.
Exceptional with Asian cuisine — the acidity and aromatics cut through spice, oil and umami like no other variety. Also brilliant with seafood, sushi, fresh salads and Thai green curry. Serve well chilled at 6–8°C. A conversation-starting wine that challenges assumptions about South African wine.
