Meerlust Estate Pinot Noir — Stellenbosch Elegance
Meerlust is one of South Africa's oldest wine estates, founded in 1693, and their Pinot Noir is sourced from carefully selected vineyards in the cooler pockets of Stellenbosch where the variety can achieve the delicacy and complexity it demands. This is South African Pinot Noir at its most refined.
Pale ruby with aromas of red cherry, raspberry, dried rose petal and subtle earthy undertones. The palate is silky and elegant with fine-grained tannins, bright acidity and a long, savoury finish that whispers rather than shouts. Beautifully crafted with restrained oak that supports rather than dominates the pure fruit expression.
Pairs with roast duck, salmon, mushroom risotto, aged Gruyère or a well-curated charcuterie board. Serve slightly chilled at 14–16°C to bring out the freshness and aromatic detail. Decant 30 minutes before serving.
